Besiktas basketball team finishes the season at top
Besiktas squeezed out a 95-91 victory over Casa TED Ankara Kolejliler to finish the regular season at top the table.
At the end of a 30-week marathon, Besiktas Cola Turka finished its regular games in the Beko Basketball League at top the standings with 54 points. It aims to repeat this success in the playoffs and capture the championship title at the end of the season.

Eagle cruises to a victor over Bursaspor: 3-0
The match was played at Adana 5 Ocak Stadium due to Turkish Federation’s disciplinary sanction imposed on Besiktas JK. Thousands of Besiktas fans filled the stands and cheered their team on throughout the entire game at Adana.
The Black and White made a blistering start into the game and jumped out to an early lead the 11th. Flip Holosko found unmarked Serdar Özkan inside box who drilled the ball into the left corner to make it 1-0 for Besiktas. A classy Holosko drive in the 33rd minute doubled the score, as the Eagles took a 2-0 lead going into the locker room at the half. Da Silva Bobo blasted a superb shot from the tight angle past goalkeeper in the 89th to seal the 3-0 victory.

Besiktas took breathe with away win: 1-2
Visiting Black Eagles edged past Caykur Rizespor 2-1 in Week 31 of TSL with goals from Ibrahim Kas and Delgado.
Black and White's got off to a fine start and displayed an attacking football in search of an early goal. But it was the home side which drew the first blood with 15th minute goal by Mehmet Cicek. Besiktas pressed hard to get back on level terms and Ibrahim Kas tied the score in injury time off Tello’s long-cross with a brilliant strike to end the first half.
Matias Delgado put his team in front with superb 77th minute drive from the left corner of the box. Playing solid defense, Eagles were able to fend off a late challenge from Rizespor, as they ran out 2-1 victors.

Unexpected lost at Inonu: 0-1
Black Eagles, beaten 1-0 by Genclerbirligi OFTAS on 30th week of the Turkcell Super League, are almost out of the race.
After a sluggish start, the Black and White created a few good chances in front of the net but could not take advantage of them, as the first half ended in a scoreless tie.
Game was played behind closed doors because of the disciplinary sanction imposed on Besiktas over fan behavior. Besiktas made a much better start to the second half and came close to score a goal but Nobre squandered them. Visiting GB Oftas went ahead in the 57th minute on a goal by Kadri. Eagles pressed hard for an equalizer but could not find the back of the net.

Eagles still in the running for the title:1-2
Besiktas won away game against Sivasspor 2-1 to draw level with their 3rd-placed opponents, 5 points behind the leaders.
Black Eagles took the lead early in the game with Slovakian striker Filip Holosko's 10th minute header to Aydin Karabulut's cross. Holosko struck again 4 minutes later. These goals gave Besiktas a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Defender Ibrahim Kas, who received a yellow card at the first half, grabbed his second and Besiktas had to carry on with 10 men from the 78th minute onwards. Black & Whites defended resolutely thereafter until Mehmet Yıldız's injury time goal and Eagles ran out 2-1 winners over their mighty hosts.

Besiktas's title hopes snapped:1-2
Championship ambitions of the Black Eagles stumbled with heartrending defeat to Fener on Inonu Stadium.
It was Fenerbahce who made the breakthrough barely 11 minutes into the game, when Alex headed Colin's cross into the back of the Eagles net. This goal spurred on the Besiktas lads, who pushed forward in a desperate bid to even the score but neither team was able to change the score during remaining of the first half, as hosts clung to a 1-0 lead heading into locker room at the break.
The second half started off as tightly as the first, with the Black Eagles, cheered on by their flag-waving fans, taking the game to the Canaries. And they were rewarded for their efforts in the 75th minute, when Serdar Ozkan scored the equalizer. Besiktas conceded a goal in the 87th minute and lost the last derby of the season. That 2-1 defeat put Besiktas 5 points back from the leader.

Eagles lost the league summit with unexpected defeat:2-1
Black Eagles suffered a 2-1 defeat to Istanbul B.B.S. in a Week 27 game of the TSL which played on Ataturk Olimpic Staduim.
Home side took the lead by ex-Besiktas player Ibrahim Akin at 6th minute. The early goal forced the eagles to come out of their shells and attack for an equalizer. Pilip Holosko's 19th minute effort leveled the score. Eagles set the pressure on their opponents for the lead but could not find the back of net. Bobo received red card from referee due to an unnecessary challange in the last minutes of the half and Besiktas had to play one man short.
Besiktas could not organized to apply pressure at the second half with ten man. Necati put Istanbul B.B.S. 2-1 ahead once again that snatched the win five minutes from time. Black Eagles lost the league summit with that score. Following Besiktas’s unexpected defeat to Istanbul B.B.S., “We worried about loosing 3 points and leadership, but we have to win Fenerbahce game and took the title back next week, we will” said coach Ertuğrul Saglam.

Besiktas won the ticket to Turin by 81-69 victory over Red Star
Besiktas basketball team won the two-leg series 161-149 on aggregate against Red Star by 81-69 home victory and reached the last 8 of the ULEB Cup. Black Eagles set to face with another Turkish side Galatasaray in one of the quarterfinal games in Turin, Italy on April.
The devoted Besiktas fans packed BJK Arena to cheer on their beloved Black and Whites throughout the entire game. Preston Shumpert and Rick Apodaca both scored 24 points, Christian Dalmau added 9 points and 5 assists and Predrag Drobnjak chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds as Besiktas Cola Turka advanced to the ULEB Cup Final Eight. Team shared the enjoyment of reaching quarterfinals of the ULEB Cup with huge crowded fans after the game and celebrated the big win.
Black Eagles maintained their one-point lead at the top of the table with a solid 3-0 win against Trabzonspor at the BJK Inonu Stadium.

Matias Delgado doubled the lead with a classy free-kick just before the half-time. Despite being reduced to 10 men following Ibrahim Toraman's dismissal at 49th, Turkish national goalkeeper Rustu pulled of brilliant saves to prevent the visitors from equalizer during the first minutes of the second half. Black & Whites recovered to score a third through substitute Aydin Karabulut.
Besiktas securing their spot at the top of the league with that comprehensive victory.

Preston Shumpert awarded as MVP for the ULEB CUP Last 16
Besiktas Basketball team's guard Preston Shumpert awarded as the most valuable player for the Last 16's first leg by the official site of ULEB Cup. He not only earned Last 16 first-leg MVP honors, but was also the week’s top scorer with 32 points.
Shumpert was unstoppable against Red Star, pouring in 32 points on 9-for-12 two-point, 2-for-4 three-point and 8-for-10 free-throw shooting. He added 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 7 fouls drawn to amass a performance index rating of 35, more than any other player in the first-leg games of eight Last 16 series.

Besiktas returned from Belgrad with draw:80-80
Besiktas basketball team earned an 80-80 tie at Pionir Arena in Belgrade, Serbia. Black Eagles carried the decision its ULEB Cup, Last 16 series with Red Star to Istanbul next week. Shumpert scored 32 as top scorer, Predrag Drobnjak added 12 points and Kaya Peker had 10 for the Eagles. Black & Whites who ended the regular season undefeated, has a nice chance to reach the Final 8 in Torino by that result.
The ticket to the Final Eight will be decided next week in a winner-takes-all contest on Besiktas’s home court BJK Arena, where the team is 6-0 in ULEB Cup action this season.
Besiktas grabbed a valuable 2-1 road win over Genclerbirligi in week 26 of the TSL with second half goals from Ibrahim Toraman and Bobo. Eagles retained its position in the league with that away victory.
First half of the game were played out mainly in midfield. Both teams were locked in scoreless draw before heading to their dressing rooms at the half. Black & Whites pushed hard in the early going of the second half and evened the score at 1-0 with Ibrahim Toraman’s header off Rodrigo Tello’s free-kick in the 60th minute. Home side leveled the score with Kerem after 9 minutes. Besiktas had trouble finding its offensive rhythm and regrouping to apply extra pressure to go ahead again until dying moments of the match. Da Silva Bobo drilled Tello’s corner-kick into Genclerbirligi’s net to give his team a 2-1 lead in the last minute of injury time and Black Eagles left the field with 4th last minute victory.
Besiktas remained at the top of Turkcell Super League with that valuable 3 points.

Besiktas reached the top of the league:1-0
Black Eagles defeated Galatasaray 1-0 in a thrilling Istanbul derby at Inonu Stadium. Besiktas became the new leaders of the Turkcell Super League first time in last four years.
Besiktas fans showed great interest and expressed their beliefs for win with activities through creative flags, banners, chants and opening up a giant Turkish flag before the match. The early minutes of the game staged a typical mid-field contest. Besiktas applied pressure and initiated effective attacks just before the break.Black & Whites came close to scoring by Tello and Holosko but the first half was completed in a scoreless tie.
Eagles created more serious scoring chances in the closing minute of second half and Mert Nobre managed to send Delgado’s 56th minute corner-kick into Galatasaray net with a well-timed header that put Besiktas 1-0 ahead. Eagles displayed an effective performance initiated mainly from the wings after the lead by Pilip Holosko's dribblings. Nobre was not able to managed to double by Holosko's passes after these wing attacks. Black & Whites walked out of the field with a 1-0 well-deserved victory over previous leader. Besiktas were back on top of the league after 137 weeks with this result.

Black Eagles won the game but were eliminated from Turkey Cup
Despite a 3-2 victory against Caykur Rize at Inonu Stadium, Besiktas got knocked out of the Fortis Turkish Cup. Having lost the first leg 1-0 at Rize,it was eliminated from the competition at second-leg quarterfinals.
Filip Holosko gave the Eagles a 19th minute lead after perfect dribbling and finish. Suat Usta leveled the score in the 26th. After the interval, Besiktas applied pressure and took the lead again with Rodrigo Tello’s goal thanks to fake pass from Matias Delgado in 59th minute. Visitors equalized 6 minutes later again by Riberio. In the 74th, Nobre scored the winning goal for Black & Whites, but it was not enough to advanced the team to the semifinals and Besiktas was eliminated from the tournament even though 3-2 lead.

Besiktas clinched a spot in the Last 16 of ULEB Cup:73-53
Besiktas Basketball team prevailed over Hap. J'lem 73-53 in the second leg of ULEB Cup Round 2. Black eagles used a 14-0 4th quarter run to eclipse an 88-73 loss in the first leg last week in israel.
Eagles held Hapoel scoreless for over six minutes on deciding period to build an insurmountable 20-point lead en route to a 73-53 victory. Rick Apodaca led Besiktas with 15 points, and Dalmau, Kaya Peker and Sandro Nicevic added 13 each. Peker also had 4 steals and Nicevic grabbed 10 rebounds.
Eagles downed Denizli with 2 goals in 3 minutes:1-2
Besiktas ran out 2-1 winners over the host Denizlispor in the opening match of Week 23 of the Turkcell Super League.
Slovakian forward Holosko put Black and Whites ahead with a 31th minute goal off Ricardinho cross. Nobre made second with a simple finish after a clever pass from Filip Holosko just 3 minutes later.
Besiktas started to 2nd half with confidince of 2 goals lead but right-winger Ali Tandogan was punished to sent off in the 62th minute. Eagles set back for the Denizli attacks. Besiktas defenders prevented dangers until a 81th Serhat pulled one back for the hosts. The last attempts of Denizli did not change the score as Black Eagles cruised to a 2-1 victory.

Besiktas down by 15 in the first-leg
Besiktas basketball team made history when they became the first ever side to go through the regular season stage with a perfect 10-0 record but they now have to overcome a big 15 point deficit in the second-leg of in Istanbul if they are to go through.
Hapoel Jerusalem prevailed over Besiktas 88-73 in the first leg of ULEB Cup Round 2. Jamie Arnold had a massive game for the israelis as he helped himself to a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams will face each other again at BJK Cola Turka Arena on February 26th.

Besiktas woke up from nightmare by last minute goal:3-2
Black & Whites won 22nd Turkcell Super League match against Ankaraspor which played at BJK Inönü Stadium on a snowy night. Absence of Bobo, Tello and Serdar Ozkan made coach Ertugrul Saglam worried before the struggle.
Besiktas took the lead early in the game with Mert Nobre's 11th minute header. Black eagles went into their locker room with a 1-0 lead at the half.
Besiktas created a flurry of chances to double the lead and Filip Holosko made one of them happen at 60th by powering a shot into the corner past keeper Senecky which is his team mate from Slovak national team. 83rd minute was the time begining of the nightmare for Eagles. De Nigris put the ball by classy header into Besiktas's net at that time, then he leveled the score with another just 3 minutes after. Besiktas got over the shock in the last period of the game and Turkish national defender Ibrahim Toraman put the Black & Whites in front again in the dying seconds. Besiktas ran out 3-2 victors at the end by that golden shot.

Eagles lost against Kayseri:2-0
Besiktas lost 2-0 hard away game against 5th place team Kayserispor. Recent injuries of Cisse and Bobo effected to team badly. Black & Whites could not create any chances for goal, there were not any shot on target in the game statistics for Besiktas.
Black eagles could not get organized well and had even no attempt for goal throughout the game. Koray drilled in the opening goal for hosts just before the break. Turkish national Gokhan Unal added the finishing touch by powering a shot past Rustu Rencber in the extra time.
